Grand Hyatt Gurgaon welcomes Herwig Knapen as Executive Chef

Herwig Knapen has been appointed as the executive chef of Grand Hyatt Gurgaon, one of the most luxurious hotels in the city of Gurgaon in the state of Haryana, India. As the executive chef, Knapen will be responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations in the hotel, including menu creation, procurement, personnel management, and catering. He will lead all culinary outlets at the hotel and will plan and execute a wide range of menus to provide memorable culinary experiences for Grand Hyatt Gurgaon’s guests.

With over 20 years of culinary and leadership experience, Knapen is well-equipped to take on the role of executive chef at Grand Hyatt Gurgaon. He has worked at several of the world’s top kitchens and luxury five-star hotels, including JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and Shangri-La, across Europe, Asia, and the United States. Knapen began his culinary career as a pastry chef in Vietnam, where he learned the fundamentals of pastry making and developed a passion for cooking.

Prior to joining Grand Hyatt Gurgaon, Knapen served as Executive Chef at Hilton, Belgium, where he gained invaluable experience in managing large-scale culinary operations. At Hilton, Knapen was responsible for the culinary direction of the hotel, overseeing a team of chefs and ensuring that the hotel’s guests received the highest quality dining experiences.

Knapen brings with him a wealth of experience and culinary knowledge. He holds a culinary degree in pastries and bread, as well as certifications in marzipan, chocolate pastries, and candy. With his expertise in pastry making, Knapen can create a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts that are sure to impress Grand Hyatt Gurgaon’s guests.

Aside from his passion for cooking, Knapen is also a keen follower of F1 Racing and is a proud owner of a pet cat named Ameri. He is fluent in several languages, including Dutch, English, German, Romanian, French, and Spanish, which will undoubtedly come in handy as he leads the culinary team at Grand Hyatt Gurgaon. With his strong leadership skills and innovative approach to cooking, Knapen is poised to create a diverse array of flavors and delicacies that will cater to the tastes of Grand Hyatt Gurgaon’s guests.
