According to the reports shared by the World Health Organization, Gen Z has an amplified level of stress. The current level of stress of Gen Z is 6.1 which is quite high compared to the others like Millennials(5.6)  and Gen X (5.2).

Due to these increased levels of stress, a significant amount of effect can be seen on the skin of the individuals. Stress can cause a chemical response in the body making it more sensitive and reactive. Also, it can make it harder for skin problems to heal and worsen like psoriasis, rosacea and eczema. It can also cause hives, rashes and blisters caused by fever.

In order to counter this one can follow the necessary diet habits. The diet habits if followed in a proper manner will result in the improvement of the skin. Here are some nutrients of the food that when taken in have a positive effect on the skin.

  • Water-Maintain skin internal balance and tissue function (e.g., ageing and inflammation)
  • Proteins- Constitution and repair of skin tissues (involved in protein synthesis and metabolism), mediation of skin physiological functions and supply of energy
  • Copper- Involved in the extracellular matrix, synthesis and stabilization of skin proteins, and angiogenesis.
  • Zinc- Participates in the proliferation and differentiation of epidermal keratinocytes.
  • Iron- Closely related to the activity of antioxidant enzymes in skin cells.

So while you are focused on getting rid of all inflammation issues we have recommended here below; so that they do not come back again. One can go ahead and start using water-based products such As lotions, creams etc available due to health benefits/benefits: Vitamin C Water Cleanser For Skin & Hair Soothing Cream, Liquid Balm Powder Foundation Brush.

Now the next important question which comes up is how to repair the damage which is caused to the skin.  This can be done in a number of ways like taking medical treatment like Laser resurfacing, Chemical Peels, Dermabrasion, Fillers, etc. Other than this, individuals can follow simple tips to improve their skin like moisturizing the skin on a continuous basis, applying sunscreen before going out, regularly hydrating the body, taking an adequate amount of sleep and having a proper diet.

Eating the right food can save you all the trouble of cosmetics and artificial products and improve immunity which directly affects the skin, so here are some of the foods which will help you in restoring the skin to the optimum level-

Avocados

Avocados are high in good fats. These fats aid a variety of bodily functions, including skin health. It is critical to consume enough of these fats to maintain skin flexible and hydrated. Compounds in avocados may help protect your skin from sun damage. Avocados are also high in vitamin E and vitamin C, both of which are antioxidants that help protect your skin from oxidative damage. Vitamin C is also necessary for good skin health. A 100-gram portion, which is around half an avocado, contains 14% of the Daily Value (DV) for vitamin E and 11% of the DV for vitamin C.

Walnuts

Walnuts have numerous properties that make them an ideal food for healthy skin. They’re high in essential fatty acids, which are lipids that your body cannot produce on its own. Mega-3 fats prevent inflammation throughout the body, including the skin. One ounce (28 grams) of walnuts provides 8% of the daily value of zinc. Zinc is required for your skin’s barrier to operating correctly. It is also required for wound healing and the fight against germs and inflammation. Walnuts include trace levels of the antioxidants vitamin E and selenium, as well as 4-5 grams of protein per ounce (28 grams).

Sunflower Seeds-

In general, nuts and seeds are high in skin-nourishing nutrients. Sunflower seeds are a good example.1 ounce (28 grammes) of sunflower seeds contains 49% of the daily value for vitamin E, 41% of the daily value for selenium, 14% of the daily value for zinc, and 5.5 grammes of protein.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are a great source, with one 1/2-cup (100-gram) serving to contain enough beta carotene to supply more than six times the DV of vitamin A. It works as a provitamin A, which means that it can be turned into vitamin A in your body. Oranges and vegetables such as carrots, spinach, and sweet potatoes contain beta-carotene. They protect your skin by functioning as a natural sunblock. High levels of beta-carotene may also give your complexion a warm, orange hue. contributing to a more youthful appearance.

Red or yellow bell peppers

Bell peppers, like sweet potatoes, are high in beta-carotene, which your body converts to vitamin A. One cup (149 grammes) of chopped red bell pepper offers 156% of the daily value for vitamin A. A major observational study of women found that eating sufficient amounts of vitamin C lowered the incidence of wrinkled and dry skin as they aged. They are also a good source of vitamin C. This vitamin is required for the production of the protein collagen, which keeps skin tight and strong. A single cup (149 grammes) of bell pepper has 211% of the daily value for vitamin C.

Other than the foods mentioned above there are other food items which could be consumed in order to improve skin health like Tomatoes, Fatty Acids, Broccoli, Soy, etc. All the above food items can be found in general offline stores nearby or can be bought online from delivery apps/websites.
