Ingredients to make Lucknow-style Shami Kebabs

  • 500 grammes of minced chicken
  • 1/4 cup powdered chana dal
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tablespoon crushed paste ginger
  • 1 tablespoon crushed paste garlic
  • 5 black cardamoms
  • 5 clove
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 red chilli
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chilli
  • Salt according to your taste 
  • 2 cups refined oil

Steps to follow:

Step1. 

In a pressure cooker, take meat, chana dal, and all other spices and let it cook on a medium flame for 5–6 whistles.

Step2.

Let the mixture cool down and blend it into a smooth paste-like consistency. 

Step 3

Now add the finely chopped green chillies, onions, ginger, and coriander to the mixture.

Step 4

Make small balls from the meat and flatten them using your fingers to make kebabs.

Step5

Take oil in a pan and shallow fry your kebabs till they become golden brown.

 Tadaa! Your shami kababs are ready. 

Enjoy them with rings of onions, some green chutney, and, of course, a generous amount of lemon.
