Do you remember the times when you were all free without running behind your kids at parties. New Year’s eve is a day of joyous and worry free celebration, but now that you have family and kids one needs to take care of them as well. We understand your longing to party once again in the same manner and so we have come up with some places where you can enjoy in the same manner as before.
Walt Disney World, Florida
On New Year’s Eve, it’s possible for theme parks like the Magic Kingdom to surpass capacity and turn away additional visitors. It’s best to avoid the parks altogether and find an alternative location to see the fireworks. The Boardwalk and the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are the greatest sites to watch the midnight fireworks outside of the parks.Both displays are amazing, with fireworks visible from every direction. On New Year’s Eve, if you don’t have a room at the Boardwalk or Polynesian Village Resort or a meal reservation there (I recommend the Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk, or ‘Ohana), you won’t be able to visit those areas.
London, England
For a memorable New Year’s Eve meal, choose one of London’s many excellent, kid-friendly restaurants. Our group of friends and I frequently visit Rainforest Cafe because of its exciting ambiance, Jamie’s Italian because of its authentic and delicious Italian cuisine, and All Star Lanes because of its unique combination of bowling lanes and restaurants. There will be many families out and about this evening because London is an excellent destination for families with young children. London has a far bigger space to see the fireworks from than New York City, where most of the activities are concentrated in the comparatively tiny area of Times Square. Therefore, there is a lot more breathing room and less concern that children would feel squished or overwhelmed. Not only are the fireworks beautiful, but so are the rest of the celebrations.
Great Wolf Lodge
In general, the holidays are a terrific time to visit any Great Wolf Lodge, but they really go all out for the holidays. Attendees can ring in the New Year with a dance party and a countdown to midnight with other guests in the hotel lobby. They’ll have a blast partying with all the other kids present, who they can sing and dance with. There will be a family-friendly vibe, so your children won’t feel out of place or neglected.
Edinburgh, Scotland
While it’s best to keep the kids away from the Hogmanay Street Party, there are plenty of other Hogmanay celebrations in the city that are kid-friendly. Time your arrival to the midnight fireworks display outside! The fireworks are spectacular, and the youngsters will love the several celebrations with traditional Scottish music and dancing.
