We have no qualms about stating that we can eat numerous jalebis at once. Can we, however, eat an extra-large jalebi the size of a tawa? This question was posed by a food influencer on his Instagram post for a huge jalebi featured in the video post. The internet has been baffled by the jalebis made by a street hawker in Lucknow.
“World’s Biggest Jalebi,” the food blogger said in a video posted to his Instagram profile, “eattwithsid”. The video shows a Lucknow street vendor, Munshi Pulia Chauraha, preparing a massive jalebi that is crispy and almost crimson in color.
The viral video had over one million views, with several comments expressing various responses. While some thought it looked “yummy” and wanted to taste it, others made jokes about it and even mocked it.
“Jaleba, not jalebi.”
“Jaleba, Jalebi’s boyfriend.”
“It’s Imarti,” she says, “and diabetes is on the way.”
“It’s a prison hui (burned) jalebi.”
“The center section is already burned.” “It’s unevenly cooked.”
By creating creative versions of street delicacies, street food vendors are pushing their creativity to new heights. A Meerut street hawker just constructed an 8-kilogram samosa. “Baahubali samosa” was the name given to it. You can read all about it here.
In another instance, a person in China constructed a big pancake, which people called a “giant dosa.”
Nevertheless, the Internet never fails to surprise us and always keeps us entertained.
