Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- 1/4 cup semolina (sooji)
- 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder (lal mirch powder)
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
- Salt, to taste
- Water, as needed
- Oil, for frying
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina, carom seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Add water little by little and knead the dough until it forms a smooth and firm ball. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- After the dough has rested, divide it into small lemon-sized balls.
- Take one ball of dough and roll it out into a thin circle using a rolling pin. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
- Using a fork, prick the rolled-out dough circles all over to prevent them from puffing up while frying.
