Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan organizes a dental care drive in Collab with Health Chakra

0
Courtyard Marriott

Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan, a prominent hotel in Pune, Maharashtra, recently collaborated with Health Chakra, a healthcare organization, to organize a unique CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative aimed at improving dental health care in the community. The initiative involved a “dental health checkup on wheels,” a mobile dental clinic equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to provide comprehensive dental checkups and treatments to people of all ages.

The CSR activity was a trailblazing effort to address the lack of awareness and accessibility to dental healthcare in the community. It was an innovative approach to reach out to the masses and promote dental health and hygiene. The “dental health checkup on wheels” visited different locations in and around Pune, providing easy access to dental care services to people who might not have otherwise been able to receive them.

Purnima Kumari, Manager, Human Resources, said, “Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan team is elated to organize this initiative and we received a phenomenal response from our neighboring school and the residents around. Mobile Dental Health Chakra was an initiative taken as we often neglect our own health and only visit the doctor when there is an emergency. This was a small effort to help our community by organizing a small dental checkup and raising awareness about dental hygiene.”

To launch the initiative, Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan initially partnered with Zilla Parishad School in Pawarwadi village. The school was selected because of its location in a remote area, making access to healthcare services challenging for the people residing there. The “dental health checkup on wheels” arrived at the school premises and offered free dental checkups to the students, teachers, and parents. In total, over 122 people were screened, and they were given tips and tricks on how to maintain healthy dental hygiene.

The parents of the school students, along with the neighboring citizens and school children from Pawarwadi village, were also invited to the school premises to experience firsthand dental care. The dental professionals on board the mobile clinic provided free consultations and basic treatments, including cleaning, filling, and extractions, to those who needed them. The team of dentists also educated people on the importance of dental health and hygiene, and how it can impact overall health and well-being.

The CSR activity was not only beneficial for the community but also for the associates of Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan. The hotel associates were given an opportunity to receive a dental checkup from the competent dental professionals on board the mobile clinic in the hotel premises itself.

The CSR initiative undertaken by Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan, in partnership with Health Chakra, was a commendable effort to address the issue of dental healthcare accessibility and awareness. The “dental health checkup on wheels” was an innovative approach to provide dental care services to people in remote areas and those who might not have easy access to such services. The initiative not only benefited the community but also offered a learning experience for the hotel associates.

Women in Kitchen: How Female Chefs are Revolutionizing India’s F&B Industry?

0
women chefs

Women have been making strides in various sectors across the world, and the food and beverage (F&B) industry is no exception. In India, women have been carving a niche for themselves in this industry, proving their mettle and achieving remarkable success. Despite being traditionally considered “Women in the kitchen,” women entrepreneurs and achievers are working their way up the ladder in the hospitality industry, particularly in the F&B segment.

The phrase “Women in the kitchen” has acquired new dimensions in today’s world, as women bring a professional touch and expertise to their roles. They have been responsible for creating delicious treats, innovative recipes, untimely cravings, and regular meals since childhood. However, the male-dominated kitchens of the F&B segment pose unique challenges that women face while trying to establish themselves in the industry.

Despite these obstacles, women have been aggressively pushing forward to gain the recognition they deserve in the F&B industry. The examples of exemplary women restaurateurs, who are changing the face of the Indian hospitality industry with their unique and delectable concepts, serve as inspiration for aspiring women entrepreneurs and chefs. By supporting women to showcase their skills and potential, the industry can not only achieve equality of roles but also foster more talented chefs and aid in the growth of the Indian culinary and baking industry.

The notion of fewer women in kitchens is changing, with more women coming forward to challenge the status quo. Today, a significant number of women run their very own businesses and manage luxury hotel kitchens, proving that gender is no barrier to success in the F&B industry. Incorporating a diverse workforce with due representation of both male and female genders provides industry leaders and companies with diverse insights into the general population and their overall customer base, producing better results and driving innovations.

Find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it. -Renowned chef, author, and TV personality Julia Child

This statement perfectly captures the passion and dedication of women in the F&B industry, who have found their calling and are pursuing it with tremendous zeal. The ground for ladies to make a mark in the F&B industry was prepared by female chefs with grit and determination.

Women chefs have already proved their ability by being both chefs and chef-owner entrepreneurs, handling both roles with grace and dedication.

The industry has seen a steady incline in female representation and leaders in F&B, but there is still room for more.

By providing support, encouragement, and mentorship, the industry can create a more inclusive and diverse environment where women can thrive and contribute their unique perspectives and skills.

Women in the F&B industry have found their passion and are keeping tremendously interested in it, paving the way for other aspiring women entrepreneurs and chefs. Their journey is an inspiration to us all.
