6 Alcobev Brands Owned By Women Announcing Sensation in the Industry!

Alcobev: An alcoholic beverage is something that everyone is curious about and wants to enjoy every once a while, especially after a long hectic day. Do you remember the first time you tried Gin and tonic with your friends? I have noticed that all these beverages are made in a men-led industry. But there are some strong women who are breaking these stereotypes and coming forward in the Indian alcove industry to make space for the divine femininity here too.

We all have heard of Tamara’s Gin. do you know who is the co-founder of this alcobev brand?  Devika Bhagat co-founded the gin which is distilled in a German copper pot using fresh whole citrus rather than citrus peels in the distillation process. Hence, you get a delicate gin with notes of citrus fruits, especially sweet lime and a spicy aftertaste from the papers.

Dr Yogini Budhkar and Dr Ashwini Deore founded Cerana Meads. When Dr Budhkar did not find any mead in India after being a fan of it in the US she decided to make it herself. Dr Deore and Dr Budhkar begin the journey of Cerana meads. They traded in maple syrup for honey and also made a Jamun mead, a fruity pomegranate variant and a herbaceous mead made with Chenin blanc and no one could posibly imagine that this would create a sensation in alcobev industry.

We all have heard of doing vodka shots. Have you ever tried Rahasya Vodka from BlissWater industries? Do you know who the founder is? Varna Bhat launched this in 2019. She is one of the most accomplished women entrepreneurs who founded three companies in less than a decade.

Anjali Shahi and Lavanya Jaya Shankar launched the Martini gin in March 2021. They created an indigenous craft gin, using snake saffron, white turmeric, kagzi lime and Goan peppercorn making their Martini distinctive.

Uma Chigurupati is the Co-founder of KRSMA Wines. She manages a pharma company and makes Lucius wines in her vineyard.  In July 2020 KRSMA wines made it to the list of 50 words best wine yards 2020, Chigurupati is even a marathoner with a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

In Hampi, Sakshi Saigal is the co-founder of Stranger and Sons. Sakshi decided to get into the alcobev industry herself and break the typical Indian stereotypes that people have. Priyanka Save is the co-founder of Fuzzante and Arca Mead. A mechanical engineer turned winemaker developed wine and did you know that she made it from the chikoo fruit from her orchard? She made this mead by fermenting Honey with water and yeast. She also makes dried rose petals mead.

These capable women are breaking all the stereotypes that have hung up on Indian females for a long time. Drinking has always been frowned upon whenever a woman did that but these divine females are telling society that not only they are solid entrepreneurs but also solid Alcobev rock stars.  Isn’t this amazing that these women have stepped up to give us some of the best alcoholic beverages?
