Winter foods such as gajak, til laddu, gajar ka halwa, sarson ka saag, and makke ki roti are popular in India. During the winter, several such Indian foods keep the body warm and healthy.

Everyone is aware of the meals we must eat throughout the winter – seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as all things warm and healthy. But what about meals that we should avoid? For better health and immunity, experts and nutritionists in the field recommend avoiding a specific range of meals and food types throughout the severe winter season.

  1. RAW VEGETABLES

You should ideally stick to veggies and fruits that are harvested throughout the winter season. However, raw vegetables should be avoided because they are harder for the body to absorb. Your body requires energy to stay warm throughout the cold. Consuming raw vegetables causes your body to expend more energy digesting them, which is not ideal. This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t eat salads in the cold. Just make sure your winter salads are made with sautéed, steamed, or baked vegetables.

  1. Juices and Drinks

We are all aware that chilled beverages should be avoided throughout the winter season. However, experts advise that all aerated drinks, fruit juices, and other sweet beverages be consumed in moderation. Because of the high sugar content, the body develops insulin resistance, potentially lowering immunity. Consume fresh fruit instead of fruit liquids. In the winter, even fresh fruit juice should be avoided.

  1. Preserved foods

Canned foods and pickles have more salt and oil to increase their shelf life. However, the process of storing food items might destroy key nutrients required by the body. It can also cause allergies in some people. Instead, choose fresh seasonal foods that can help you maintain your metabolic rate and prevent allergies or seasonal disorders!

Apart from all these mustard oil can do wonders in winters, the application and usage both are beneficial.

Here are some mustard oil options that you can get from the market or order online for amazing and wonderful results in this chilly winter.

  • 24 Mantra Organic Mustard Oil
  • Kapila Organic Cold Pressed Mustard Oil
  • Patanjali Fortified Mustard Oil

Furthermore, especially with Mustard oil, you should consider the colour, scent, extraction processes, and presence of natural ingredients before deciding on the ideal fig for you.
