Lenexis Foodworks to open 100 stores in 20 new cities nationwide this year

Lenexis Foodworks, the parent company of Chinese Wok and Big Bowl, plans to expand quickly by entering 20 new cities and opening 100 more stores by the end of Financial Year 2024-25 (FY25).

Lenexis Foodworks targets revenue growth INR 650 cr, sales INR 1000cr

According to The Hindu Business Line, The brand expects to reach a revenue of INR 650 crore by March 2025 and a sales run rate of INR 1000 crore by FY26, showing strong growth due to this expansion. With nearly 200 outlets in over 20 cities, Lenexis Foodworks is set to dominate the INR 25,000 crore QSR Chinese cuisine market, says founder Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal.

“There has been significant expansion and sales growth post-COVID. In the last six months, Chinese Wok has achieved revenue growth of 100 percent at the system level, along with a 70 percent increase in same-store sales,” he said. 

Furthermore, Lenexis Foodworks will open 100 new stores in multiple cities and boost its presence in malls, high streets, and cloud kitchens. The brand currently operates in 60 malls, 60 cloud kitchens, and 80 high streets.

Lenexis Foodworks eyes tier-2, tier-3 cities for expansion

Agrawal shared the expansion plans with Businessline, highlighting the growing market in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. “Our expansion in the foreseeable future is going to come from tier-2 and tier-3 markets. Going forward, 80-90 percent of Chinese Wok’s growth will come from these cities.” With a current team of 3,000, they plan to hire 2,000 more in the next six months to support their expansion.

Established in 2015, Lenexis Foodworks specialises in Indianized Chinese cuisine and operates in several cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Kanpur.

In recent days, the brand expanded eastward by opening its first store in Kolkata. It plans to open more stores in Patna, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Ranchi, Raipur, and Vizag.
