Allied Blenders to introduce Russian Standard Vodka in India

Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABDL) , which is the third largest spirit brand in India, announced that it has entered a strategic distribution tie-up with Roust Corporation to introduce Russian Standard Vodka in Indian markets.

According to The Hindu Business Line, The premium vodka brand will come in three versions: Original, Gold, and Platinum, priced at INR 2,200, INR 2,600, and INR 5,000 in Maharashtra. Russian Standard is the top premium vodka in Russia with a 30% market share and is exported to over 85 countries.

Vodka market stands at 13 million cases, grows over 20%

Meanwhile, the collaboration aims to take advantage of India’s growing vodka market, which is now at 13 million cases and growing over 20% each year. The vodka is made in St. Petersburg with glacial water from Lake Ladoga and winter wheat from the Russian Steppes.

ABDL Managing Director Alok Gupta said the partnership fits their plan to develop a premium portfolio. Ivan Alferov, CEO International of Roust, noted that India is a key market for their growth.

The distribution deal uses ABDL’s wide Indian network and marketing skills to bring Roust’s well-known premium vodka to the Indian market. At 2:30 pm today, Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABDL) shares were trading at ₹320.95, down ₹10.30 or 3.11% on the NSE.
