During the pandemic, we saw a lot of take-outs. Restaurants realized this as well and quickly expanded their delivery radius. Fortunately, restaurants in Mumbai know how to do it right, so ordering it became second nature when WFH became more complex.
Even as we enter year three of the pandemic, it’s not unusual for us to find it difficult to pull ourselves away from the Netflix series we’ve been bingeing and, you know, actually going to a restaurant. Luckily, with new menus being introduced almost every month, ordering food in Mumbai has never been more exciting.
Here are some of the best restaurants in Mumbai for ordering in:
- Hakkasan Mumbai
Hakkasan at Home, a specially curated five-course meal experience, brings modern Cantonese flavours to your Home. The menu includes a soup, two small eats, the main course, a dessert, and some of the restaurant’s signature specials.

- Bastian
Bastian Bandra and Worli deliver the best dishes from their extensive menus to customers’ homes, but their Build-a-Box piqued our interest. The Bastian Box comes with house salad, a variety of rice/noodle options served with a selection of curry and meat/vegetable mains, and cocktail premixes, so all you have to do is pour any alcohol of your choice to get the party started.

- Café Duco
When you’re looking for something comfortable and familiar, the ingredient-focused, flavour-forward Latin-American takeaway is a great option: think tacos with butter garlic shrimp, braised lamb, and buttermilk fried chicken, quesadillas, Batata Harra, Picante Chicken, and pork ribs. Duco also serves a variety of cold plates as well as a variety of heartier options such as burgers and sandwiches.
