Dalgona Coffee, or in simpler words, whipped coffee, gained tremendous popularity when the world was quarantined during the COVID outbreak. It all started with a viral Tik Tok video, and then it reached almost every social media platform. The craze that people developed toward it was insane.

Coffee is beaten with sugar and lukewarm water until it becomes nicely fluffy and frothy, then added to warm or cold milk as per preference.

But soon after some time, it faded away like any other trend.

Firstly, it was time-consuming. It was beaten for several minutes to get that froth. It wasn’t an easy task, but people enjoy their coffee when it is instantly made without involving much hustle. It was a big no-no for restaurants too because no one will wait for a good half an hour to get their coffee, especially in the morning when everyone is in a hurry.

Real coffee lovers also didn’t find it to be worthy, as it was being prepared using instant coffee, which lacks the original richness, goodness, and aroma of pure coffee. Ground coffee is more intense and rich in flavours, which instant coffee lacks.

Moreover, the amount of sugar that was required in beating the coffee was quite a lot. It makes it taste too sweet for someone who likes their coffee dark and strong. Healthwise, it was also detrimental. Consuming this amount of sugar is awful.

In addition to this, it was all nice and flowy when people were quarantined and spending their time mostly at home, but as soon as everything was back to normal, the craze for Dalgona coffee also vanished, and it was not able to sustain for a longer period of time.

In recent times, Arabica, a mild but aromatic coffee, has been liked by the majority of the population. Filter coffee is a classic that is enjoyed by everyone. Nothing is compared to a nice warm mug of filter coffee.

Whether it is Dalgona, Arabica, or filter coffee, for coffee lovers, they are just a source of happiness and a stress buster. They are all widely loved and amazingly delicious. No doubt dalgona lost its charm and craze as time passed, but once it was a tremendous craze among everyone.
