Wyndham Hotels to introduce Microtel in India, plans 40 Hotels by 2031

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts plans to expand in India by introducing its budget hotel brand, Microtel. The company, the largest hotel chain by number of properties, has signed an exclusive deal with Nile Hospitality LLP and aims to open 40 hotels by 2031.

According to the hindu business line, Wyndham Hotels released a statement on Thursday, October 17, stating, “The agreement underscores the company’s commitment to expanding in one of the world’s most dynamic growing hospitality markets, where it currently has 60 hotels open and expects to grow by at least 25 per cent in the next 18 months.”

Wyndham Hotels operates 360 Microtel worldwide

There are 360 Microtel hotels worldwide in North America, Asia, and New Zealand. The chain plans to open Microtel hotels in tier II, III, and IV cities, starting in 2025. Each hotel will have at least 50 rooms and include meeting spaces, social areas, gyms, and other facilities.

“We continue to see incredible opportunities in India which is why we are focusing our strategic efforts on introducing more of our diverse brands to the country,” explained Dimitris Manikis, president (EMEA region), Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
