BIRA 91 launches first Taproom in Mumbai, sixth in India

BIRA 91, India’s top craft beer brand, has opened its newest Taproom in Mumbai. This is their eighth Taproom overall and the first one in Mumbai, making it the sixth city in India to join BIRA 91’s growing network of craft beer experiences.

According to Restaurant India, while talking about the launch, Ankur Jain, Founder and CEO of BIRA 91, said, “We are thrilled to bring the BIRA 91 Taproom experience to Mumbai, a city known for its energy, diversity, and love for innovation. Our Taprooms are designed to not only showcase our unique brews but also create a space where people can connect over their shared love for craft beer. Founded by Ankur Jain, Bira 91 is an Indian craft beer brand launched in 2015 and manufactured by B9 Beverages Pvt. Ltd. Made from wheat, barley, and hops, the beer is available in draft, 330ml, 650ml bottles, and 500ml cans. The company’s first brewery was in Belgium, where the beer was made using ingredients from France, Belgium, the Himalayas, and Bavarian Farms before being imported to India. After initial success, the company started making the beer in India using the same ingredients.

Moving forward, the opening of the Mumbai Taproom is part of BIRA 91’s plan to grow its craft beer culture across India. Taprooms are now open in six cities: Ludhiana, Mohali, Delhi, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
