Instructions

1. Begin by making the marinade for the paneer. In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt. Mix until combined.

2. Next, add the cubed paneer, bell peppers and onions to the marinade and mix until everything is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and set it aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. While the paneer is marinating, make the pastry. In a large bowl, combine the flour, butter, water and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.

4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until the dough is smooth. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and set aside.

5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

6. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out into a large rectangle, about 1/8-inch thick. Cut the rectangle into 8-10 smaller rectangles, about 4-inches wide.

7. Place a heaping tablespoon of the filling in the center of each rectangle. Fold the dough over the filling to form a parcel, pressing the edges together to seal.

8. Place the parcels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops of the parcels with the beaten egg.

9. Bake the parcels for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown.
