With a blend of toasty spices, creaminess from the butter and heavy cream, and tanginess from the tomatoes, Paneer Masala offers a rich and nuanced flavor profile. This combination of flavors produces a dish that is both delicious and gratifying.

Here is a simple and delicious recipe for Butter Paneer with a great North Indian taste:

Ingredients:

  • 500 g paneer, cut into cubes
  • 2 medium-sized onions, chopped
  • 3 large tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add the butter.
  2. Once the butter has melted, add the chopped onions and cook until they are soft and translucent about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the green chilies and ginger-garlic paste to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the pureed tomatoes to the pan and cook until they are soft and the mixture starts to thicken about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala to the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Add the cubed paneer to the pan and gently mix until the cheese is well coated with the tomato mixture.
  8. Pour the heavy cream into the pan and gently stir until everything is well combined.
  9. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
  11. Enjoy your delicious Butter Paneer with a great North Indian taste!
