Man Lost At The Caribbean Sea Survived On Ketchup And Seasoning For 24 Days

0

How long can you go without eating? Maybe for a few days? Following that, your system will gradually fail, making survival difficult. But what if we told you that a person recently survived for a month on ketchup and seasonings?

That’s right, you read that correctly. Ketchup and seasonings are just necessary to improve the taste of food. However, have you ever considered that these two things could be a matter of life and death for someone?

This mind-boggling incident will have you thinking about it for a long time. A 47-year-old sailor was recently rescued from the Caribbean Sea after spending 24 days there with nothing but water surrounding him. Is it true?

According to NBC News, Elvis Francois of Dominica was adrift at sea for over a month before being rescued by a plane that observed the word “help” painted on his boat. Elvis detailed how he spent those difficult days without a sight of land ahead of him or anyone else to talk to or seek help from in a video published by the Colombian Navy, according to the article.

I’m curious what he ate and how he managed to live that way. When nothing else was available, ketchup and seasonings stepped in. “I have no food,” Elvis said. It’s simply a bottle of ketchup from the boat. Garlic powder, as well as Maggi “So I diluted it with water.”

“Twenty-four days, no land,” he remarked, expanding on his experience. There is no one to talk to. I’m at a loss for words. You have no idea where you are. “It was difficult.” “At times, I lose hope,” he says in the video. “I consider myself family.”

Elvis was discovered 120 nautical miles northwest of Puerto Bolivar in La Guajira’s northern department. According to LADbible, Elvis was rescued and taken to Cartagena for medical treatment, where officials will help him get back on track.

Elvis also expressed his gratitude to the Caribbean Naval officials who rescued him and eventually returned him to safety.

“I had given up hope and was thinking about my family when I came across the coast guard,” he says. “I wouldn’t be telling the story if it wasn’t for them,” he added.

Fussy about diet recipes? Here is how smoothies can change your fitness game

0

Staying on top of your diet plan can be tough, but there’s an easy drink hack that can help: smoothies! Made with natural, organic fruits, smoothies are a great way to get a variety of essential nutrients and good protein that can help build energy and muscle.

Here are some of the reasons why you should include smoothies in your diet.

They are Versatile

One of the best things about smoothies is that they’re incredibly versatile. You can use a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients to make them, so you can easily customize them to suit your taste preferences and dietary needs. Plus, they’re quick and easy to make, so you can enjoy them on the go or as convenient meal replacements

Wellness in a glass

Smoothies are also a great way to get a lot of nutrients in one glass. Fruits and vegetables are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are essential for good health. They also contain fiber, which can help keep you feeling full and satisfied, and can help lower cholesterol levels.

Powerhouse of nutrients

When it comes to protein, smoothies can be a great option as well. Adding ingredients like Greek yogurt, milk, or protein powder can boost the protein content of your smoothie, which can help build and repair muscle. This is especially useful for those who are looking to gain muscle mass or maintain muscle mass. So, are smoothies capable of replacing supplements? It depends on what you’re looking to get out of your supplements. Smoothies can provide a lot of the same nutrients that supplements do, but they’re not always as concentrated. For example, a smoothie may contain a good amount of vitamin C, but it may not have as much as a vitamin C supplement.

Make your own rules

Another great thing about smoothies is that they’re a great way to get a variety of fruits and vegetables into your diet. Many people struggle to eat enough fruits and vegetables, but with a smoothie, you can easily get a serving or two of different fruits and veggies in one glass.

Similarly, a smoothie may contain a good amount of protein, but it may not have as much as a protein supplement. However, the added benefit of smoothies is that it is natural and organic, unlike many supplements which may contain artificial ingredients.

Smoothies are a convenient and delicious way to stay on top of your diet plan. They’re packed with essential nutrients and good protein, and they’re easy to make and customize to suit your taste preferences and dietary needs. While they may not replace supplements entirely, they can certainly provide many of the same benefits and can be a great addition to any diet.

According to a research, Punjab’s cotton and maize yields would decline by 11–13% by 2050 due to climate change

0

According to a recent research by agricultural economists and scientists at Punjab Agricultural University, climate change would cause maize and cotton yields in Punjab to decline by 13% and 11%, respectively, by 2050. (PAU). About 12% of the nation’s total cereal production is generated in Punjab. The impact of climate change on five important crops — rice, maize, cotton, wheat, and potato — in the agrarian state was projected in a study that was published in the Mausam journal of the India Meteorological Department earlier this month using rainfall and temperature data gathered between 1986 and 2020.

Ludhiana, Patiala, Faridkot, Bathinda, and SBS Nagar are the five meteorological observatories operated by Punjab Agricultural University where the researchers gathered climatic data.

According to the researchers, agricultural economist Sunny Kumar, scientist Baljinder Kaur Sidana, and PhD student Smily Thakur, long-term changes in climatic variables indicate that the rise in temperature, not a change in rainfall pattern, is what is causing the majority of the alterations.“The shift in mean temperature over all growth seasons as a result of variations in minimum temperature is one of the most fascinating findings. It indicates an increasing tendency in the minimum temperature,” the research claimed.

The yield of rice, maize, and cotton is negatively impacted by a rise in the minimum temperature. Contrarily, it was discovered that a minimum temperature that is too high is good for wheat and potato productivity.

By 2080, the harmful effects would have accumulated. For maize, the yield loss will rise from 13 to 24 percent; for cotton, it will rise from 11 to 24 percent; and for rice, it will rise from 1 to 2 percent. “In 2050, the yield response for both wheat and potatoes would be essentially the same. The production of wheat and potatoes will increase by around 1% each by 2080 due to a major shift in climate,” it read.

The findings suggested that the climate-smart packages needed to be included at the policy level in the agricultural development agenda. The report recommended concentrating on establishing connections between farmers and financial institutions to increase their potential to adopt climate-smart practices and technology.

Drunk Mumbai Girl accidentally orders Biryani from Bengaluru, trends on Twitter

biryani

When it comes to ordering meals online, Indians choose biryani the most. We say it with such certainty since recent Zomato research showed that biryani was the most popular food in 2022 and the year prior. The most popular cuisine ordered in 2022 for the seventh consecutive year was chicken biryani, according to Swiggy.

There were 137 orders for biryani in a minute on average! A Mumbai woman therefore picked up her phone to place a lunch order and chose biryani right away. She mistakenly bought it from a different state, though, because of her intoxication. It’s extremely fascinating what happened next.

The Mumbai woman who ordered the biryani from Meghana Foods in Bengaluru reportedly did so by accident, incurring a staggering INR 2500 in the process. When she realized this, she could not have been more pleased that her command had been honored.

She tweeted about her order after taking a screenshot of it. The user @subii wrote in the caption of the photo, “Did I order INR 2500 worth of biryani all the way from Bangalore?”. (@_subhiii_) January 21, 2023.

A rush of comments, including one from Zomato, have been left on the post, which was published on January 21, 2023 (a Saturday), and it has already received 487,710 views. “Once the order arrives at your door, Subii, you’ll have a blissful hangover.”  “Please share your story with us.”, Zomato offered an opinion.

The post made other users laugh quite a bit. A few of them inquired as to how Zomato handled the order, and the meal delivery service used the chance to debut their intercity delivery service, “Zomato Legends.”

The ‘World’s Worst’ McDonald’s is closing its doors after brawls and over 800 police complaints

Infamously named one of the worst McDonald’s restaurants in the world, located in Canada, is closing its doors after nearly 40 years in business. The Daily Star said that the Canadian eatery on Rideau Street in Ottawa is getting bad press for the wrong reasons. Racoon clashes, brawls, and violent outbursts that occurred immediately have all been reported over the years. The franchise thus made the decision not to extend the lease on the building. It was also mentioned in the news that they will formally close their doors in April 2023.

After a customer pulled a newborn racoon out of his clothing during a fight, the McDonald’s brunch, which first debuted in 1985, went viral in 2013.  According to The Mirror, there were over 800 police callouts to the McDonald’s restaurant in a single year, including a complaint about the raccoon battle. According to The Mirror, in 2015, another video of a large brawl spread like wildfire online. Since then, the restaurant has opted to limit its takeaway business to only 6 am to 10 pm instead of operating around the clock.

According to a story on Metro.co.uk, the police chief of Ottawa claimed the chain store has been a source of commotion and alarm. About 900 calls were made to them in 2018 about the same subject. In a letter to McDonald’s Canada’s president and chief executive officer, the police chief expressed his concerns about the “ongoing criminal activities and social disruption.”

According to Peter Crosthwaite, the building’s owner, who spoke further about the decision to shutter the store, it was not made just because of the violence that has been occurring there. Crosthwaite claimed that the shutdown was also brought on by the city’s subway system, which “tore up Rideau Street,” a pandemic, and a few other things.

Swiggy to lay off 380 employees, confirms CEO

Swiggy (Representative Image)

The CEO of the online food delivery service Swiggy, Sriharsha Majety, said that hiring too many people was an instance of “bad judgment” and that he should have done better. Swiggy laid off 380 employees as part of a “restructuring process” due to difficult macroeconomic conditions. The company’s meat marketplace will shortly be shut down, according to Majety, co-founder and CEO, in an internal email.

He expressed regret to the affected workers, said that the “very painful choice” was made after “exploring all available possibilities,” and provided an employee assistance program for those who were affected.

He claims that Swiggy will continue to deliver meat via Instamart and will continue to invest in all other new verticals. Compared to the company’s predictions, Majety added, the growth rate for food delivery has slowed. As a result, to achieve our profitability targets, we had to review our entire indirect costs. Although we had previously started taking steps to address various indirect expenses, such as infrastructure and office/facilities expenditures, etc.

Majety admitted, “Our overhiring is an instance of poor judgment, and I should’ve done better here.” He had spoken to Swiggy employees earlier in the day during a town hall meeting. According to the tenure and grade of the impacted employees, Swiggy has issued a cash payout as part of the employee support program that can last anywhere between three and six months.

Depending on which is higher, they will either receive an assured three months’ pay or a notice period plus 15 days of ex-gratia for each year of service that has been completed plus any remaining paid leave that is still owed. All impacted employees will get a minimum assured payout of three months as a result of this. This includes variable pay and 100% incentives. In the email declaring the layoffs, Majety stated that the joining bonus and retention bonus payments will not be made.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Acknowledges Food Delivery Scam Report

0
zomato Delivery

Most people enjoy ordering food online, and with the rise of food aggregators and delivery applications, it is now simple to get their favorite treats delivered to their homes. But recently, a man placed an order through Zomato, and he was astonished by what the delivery person informed him.

Whole Story about Zomato Food Delivery Scam!

According to his LinkedIn page, Vinay Sati describes himself as an entrepreneur. He claimed to have bought hamburgers from Burger King and paid for them online. About 30 to 40 minutes after the delivery agent arrived to deliver the product, Sati stated he advised him not to pay online the following time.

When Sati questioned why, the delivery person explained that he could order meals worth Rs 700–800 and just have to pay him Rs 200. He declared that he would give Zomato the order while also proving that he didn’t take the meal.

“Aap bas mujhe 200rs, 300rs de dena or 1000 rs ke khane ke maje lena (You just pay me 200-300 rupees and enjoy food worth 1,000 rupees),” he wrote. Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, was also mentioned by Sati and responded to the message. “Deepinder Goyal ji, now don’t pretend that you don’t even know that this is happening?

What are your #IIM men doing if you are still unable to address the problem after knowing all of this? #shocked!” he said in his LinkedIn post. “After all this, I only had two choices.  To begin with, I would have welcomed this offer or else would have revealed this scandal,” he wrote as a note.

“I’m aware of it. We’re working to close the gaps”, Goyal replied. A user remarked, “This flaw is not in startups, but rather in Indian culture. A few days ago, I scheduled a few tests online. When a representative showed up at my door to collect the samples, he advised me to save his number and call him personally to negotiate a lower price.

This occurs because we are all involved in the effort to save money and we support it. I can guarantee many individuals who are posting must have canceled the ride and paid the driver straight on his insistence to save money.”

This is a really concerning issue and Zomato should take action against such fraud, as it can become a regular practice in future. What are your thoughts on this?

This salad recipe also includes a variety of colourful vegetables such as cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers, which are high in antioxidants and phytochemicals. The Magical Quinoa

Healthy Fats

Juicy Pomegranate

Another unique addition to the salad is the use of pomegranate, a superfood that is high in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. The pomegranate adds a burst of sweetness and tanginess to the salad, making it a delicious and refreshing option.

An Amazing Dressing

The salad is dressed with a simple vinaigrette made with olive oil, lemon juice, and honey. Olive oil is a great source of healthy monounsaturated fats, while lemon juice adds a burst of flavor and Vitamin C. The honey adds a touch of natural sweetness and is a great alternative to refined sugar.

The simple vinaigrette dressing made with olive oil, lemon juice, and honey adds a burst of flavor without adding any unnecessary calories. This salad is a great option for anyone looking for a healthy and tasty lunch option.

Additionally, Bhagyashree’s choice to include quinoa in her salad recipe is a smart one as it’s a gluten-free grain that has a low glycemic index, making it a great option for those with diabetes or trying to manage their blood sugar levels. The ancient grain is also high in magnesium, which is essential for maintaining healthy bones and muscles, and zinc, which is essential for a strong immune system.

Overall, Bhagyashree’s salad recipe is a well-balanced meal that covers all the essential macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and healthy fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) that one needs in their diet. The salad is also versatile; ingredients can be added or substituted according to personal preferences.
