West Bengal will present Kolkata street food to G20 delegates at Victoria Memorial Hall

On January 11, the state government of Bengal intends to provide a demonstration of Kolkata’s street food at the Victoria Memorial Hall complex. This is part of the preparations that are being made for the G20 delegates who will be in the city.

The senior authorities of the state have organized a series of briefings for the delegates who will attend the preparatory meeting that will take place on January 9 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Center in New Town.

An official stated that they intend to provide a selection of cuisines to the delegates, and they are going to set up twenty food kiosks at Victoria Memorial Hall to do so. In addition to rasogolla, possibly all of the other well-known dishes, such as rolls and chops, kachori, aloo dum and luchi, momos, and Mughlai paratha, could be made available to tourists. 

An official stated that the primary objective was to promote the street cuisine of this city that is rich in culture and to demonstrate to the delegates that the street food in Kolkata is fairly safe for consumption.

In addition, there will be horse-drawn carriages available for the G20 delegates to take a trip in as they tour the gorgeous Maidan and the area around Victoria Memorial.
