Celebrations aren’t complete without a drink for most of us. While some people like to get creative with cocktails at home, others prefer to hit up a restaurant for their favourite drink.

The problem is, alcohol at restaurants can be pretty pricey, making it hard to fully enjoy our drinks or even have more than just a few. But did you know that navy officers can get alcohol at dirt-cheap prices? A recent photo that’s gone viral shows a menu from a Navy Officers’ Mess, and the prices of the alcohol are crazy low.

A Twitter user named Anant posted a photo of the menu, which had a ton of whiskey and beer brands at super low prices, mostly under INR 100. The caption read, “My Bangalore brain can’t handle these prices.” People were shocked when they saw the cheap prices of alcohol at the Navy Officers’ Mess.

Here’s the deal: army personnel get an exemption from the central excise duty, which is why liquor and grocery items are about 10-15% cheaper in military canteens. The post went viral, racking up 22.7 K views, tons of likes, and comments. One user wrote, “Haha! Looks like a DSOI menu. Love it! We pay INR 500 for a Kingfisher in Bangalore.”

Another person shared their own experience and wrote, “Reminds me of when I took my army father-in-law to a bar and restaurant in Mumbai. He looked at the menu and asked, ‘Are these prices in ml or Rs?’ When I said Rs, he was like (shocked emoji).”

People were blown away by the prices for 60 ml and asked, “Where the heck is this?” Another person claimed, “You can get similar prices at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, but it’s a members-only
