When it comes to ordering meals online, Indians choose biryani the most. We say it with such certainty since recent Zomato research showed that biryani was the most popular food in 2022 and the year prior. The most popular cuisine ordered in 2022 for the seventh consecutive year was chicken biryani, according to Swiggy.

There were 137 orders for biryani in a minute on average! A Mumbai woman therefore picked up her phone to place a lunch order and chose biryani right away. She mistakenly bought it from a different state, though, because of her intoxication. It’s extremely fascinating what happened next.

The Mumbai woman who ordered the biryani from Meghana Foods in Bengaluru reportedly did so by accident, incurring a staggering INR 2500 in the process. When she realized this, she could not have been more pleased that her command had been honored.

She tweeted about her order after taking a screenshot of it. The user @subii wrote in the caption of the photo, “Did I order INR 2500 worth of biryani all the way from Bangalore?”. (@_subhiii_) January 21, 2023.

A rush of comments, including one from Zomato, have been left on the post, which was published on January 21, 2023 (a Saturday), and it has already received 487,710 views. “Once the order arrives at your door, Subii, you’ll have a blissful hangover.”  “Please share your story with us.”, Zomato offered an opinion.

The post made other users laugh quite a bit. A few of them inquired as to how Zomato handled the order, and the meal delivery service used the chance to debut their intercity delivery service, “Zomato Legends.”
