The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is organizing a unique food festival in the capital city. The G20 Food Festival will showcase cuisines from 29 countries including the 19 member countries of the Group of Twenty (G20). The festival will be held on February 11 and 12, 2023 at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium.

The group of Twenty includes – Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States, along with the European Union and other guest countries.

The main aim of this festival is for the public to taste the food delicacies from the participating G20 countries and guest countries. The countries are required to bring their chefs, staff, and raw materials for food preparation. However, the NDMC will provide space, stalls, electrical connection, water connection and other logistics support. The food can be sold to visitors on a payment basis.

Food preparation workshops or live demonstration counters may also be a part of the festival, along with the display of photographs and write-ups on the cuisines. This festival is expected to generate awareness about international cuisines and provide education and guidance on nutritional health and food preparation.

NDMC revealed in a statement, “The main purpose of the Food Festival is for the public to enjoy food delicacies of G20 member countries and guest countries. All the G20 member nations and guest countries are invited to participate in this food festival.”

“Food preparation workshops or live demonstration counter may also be part of the food festival, including the display of photographs and write-up on the cuisines,” the NDMC added.

International cuisines are becoming increasingly popular in India, and with a growing number of Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and Korean restaurants, people are more open to exploring different global cuisines.

The G20 Food Festival is a unique opportunity to bring together cuisines from around the world under one roof, and for food lovers in New Delhi to taste and experience the diversity of global cuisine.
