Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Acknowledges Food Delivery Scam Report

Published:

Most people enjoy ordering food online, and with the rise of food aggregators and delivery applications, it is now simple to get their favorite treats delivered to their homes. But recently, a man placed an order through Zomato, and he was astonished by what the delivery person informed him.

Whole Story about Zomato Food Delivery Scam!

According to his LinkedIn page, Vinay Sati describes himself as an entrepreneur. He claimed to have bought hamburgers from Burger King and paid for them online. About 30 to 40 minutes after the delivery agent arrived to deliver the product, Sati stated he advised him not to pay online the following time.

When Sati questioned why, the delivery person explained that he could order meals worth Rs 700–800 and just have to pay him Rs 200. He declared that he would give Zomato the order while also proving that he didn’t take the meal.

“Aap bas mujhe 200rs, 300rs de dena or 1000 rs ke khane ke maje lena (You just pay me 200-300 rupees and enjoy food worth 1,000 rupees),” he wrote. Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, was also mentioned by Sati and responded to the message. “Deepinder Goyal ji, now don’t pretend that you don’t even know that this is happening?

What are your #IIM men doing if you are still unable to address the problem after knowing all of this? #shocked!” he said in his LinkedIn post. “After all this, I only had two choices.  To begin with, I would have welcomed this offer or else would have revealed this scandal,” he wrote as a note.

“I’m aware of it. We’re working to close the gaps”, Goyal replied. A user remarked, “This flaw is not in startups, but rather in Indian culture. A few days ago, I scheduled a few tests online. When a representative showed up at my door to collect the samples, he advised me to save his number and call him personally to negotiate a lower price.

This occurs because we are all involved in the effort to save money and we support it. I can guarantee many individuals who are posting must have canceled the ride and paid the driver straight on his insistence to save money.”

This is a really concerning issue and Zomato should take action against such fraud, as it can become a regular practice in future. What are your thoughts on this?
