Zomato, the leading online food delivery platform, announced a significant partnership on Monday. Teaming up with Dial4242, Zomato has taken a step forward to ensure the well-being of its delivery partners. Through this collaboration, Zomato will offer ambulance services and medical support by leveraging mobile medical units (MMUs).
With this initiative, Zomato’s delivery partners gain access to a valuable benefit: free health check-ups and eye testing at conveniently located centers. These services are made possible through the Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) currently operating in Delhi and Gurugram.
“We have been leveraging Dial4242’s ambulance services since January 2023. Strengthening our association with Dial4242 further with the Mobile Medical Unit setups, we aim to provide preventative healthcare support to our delivery partners,” said Rinshul Chandra, COO, food ordering and delivery business at Zomato.
Within just two weeks of the MMUs’ deployment, the company reported that around 500 delivery partners took advantage of the available services, emphasizing their commitment to prioritize their health and well-being.
“Our extended collaboration with Zomato for such lifesaving initiatives encourages us to keep on building better processes and systems to be able to fulfil our mission of making ambulances available to each and every Indian within 10 minutes”, said Jeetendra Lalwani, Co-founder, Dial4242 Ambulance Services.
Zomato provides a dedicated 24/7 online emergency support service, which includes the “Buddy Delivery Partner” initiative aimed at aiding police and ambulance services during critical situations.
Earlier this year, Zomato’s Founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, made a significant announcement stating that the company is currently constructing public infrastructure to provide comprehensive support to the gig economy and delivery partners across various companies.
Dubbed as ‘The Shelter Project,’ this initiative aims to provide a comfortable resting place for delivery partners, equipped with amenities such as clean drinking water, phone-charging stations, accessible washrooms, high-speed internet, a 24/7 helpdesk, and first-aid support.
