VRO Hospitality is a company that owns and operates several upscale bars and restaurants across various cities in India, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ooty. Some of their popular brands include Badmaash Lounge, Mirage, Plan B, Taki Taki, and Cafe Noir. The company is currently on an aggressive expansion drive both nationally and internationally, with brands like Badmaash, Cafe Noir, and Taki Taki leading the way in uncharted territories.
As part of its expansion plans, VRO Hospitality has recently strengthened its leadership team by appointing Thomas Abraham as the Executive Vice-President. Abraham is a veteran in the hotel industry with over three decades of experience. After completing his education in Hotel Management at Les Roches, Switzerland, he started his career with The Oberoi Group in Mumbai in 1992. Over the years, Abraham has worked with some of the country’s leading hotel chains, including Marriott, Taj Luxury Hotels, Leela Kempinski, Movenpick, and Hyatt Group.
During his tenure, Abraham has held several leadership positions and contributed to the success of many hotels. For instance, he started with The Oberoi Group in Mumbai as a member of the Food and Beverage Division and was quickly promoted to Assistant F&B Manager within five-and-a-half years. He was subsequently promoted to Director of Food & Beverage and continued in the role for some time before moving to the first Marriott in India, on the shores of Goa, as Director of Restaurants.
Abraham has also served in leadership roles at some of the country’s finest F&B operations, including Hyatt Regency Delhi, Taj Mahal Hotel and Palace in Mumbai, and Taj Palace in Delhi. He also worked at the Leela in Mumbai as a resident manager and completed a short stint overseas with Movenpick before returning to Mumbai to join back the Hyatt as resident manager of the Grand Hyatt. Abraham was soon promoted to general manager of the prestigious Park Hyatt in Goa and later moved to The Park Hyatt in Hyderabad. In 2019, he was given the additional responsibility of Area Vice President to support hotels in South and Central India.
With Thomas Abraham’s appointment, VRO Hospitality aims to leverage his expertise and experience to drive its expansion plans further. Abraham’s leadership and proven track record of high performance in the hotel industry are expected to strengthen VRO’s brand and help the company establish a dominant position in the highly competitive Indian hospitality market.
