According to the official website, this compilation was meticulously crafted by amalgamating restaurant ratings from Google and Taste Atlas’s extensive database.
The official statement read, “What we did was the following: we combined the average of the ratings of the best local and regional dishes served in a particular city, the average rating of the national dishes served in that city, and the average Google rating of the best traditional restaurants in that city.”
Florence, Italy, has been acclaimed as the premier destination for indulging in delectable local cuisine, earning the esteemed title of the top-rated city for culinary exploration. Among its renowned street food offerings are Fiorentina, Ribollita, Lampredotto, Trippa Alla Fiorentina, and Pappardelle al Cinghiale. Following closely behind Florence are Rome, Lima, Naples, Hong Kong, Mexico City, New York City, Paris, Tokyo, and Milan, rounding out the list of the ten most celebrated cities for their tantalizing street food.
Taste Atlas described New Delhi’s local food as “a mouthwatering combination of traditional Indian cuisine, street food vendors, and a growing number of international dining options. It’s characterised by its aromatic spices, rich flavours, and diverse culinary influences.”
Some of the must-try dishes in Delhi are Chole Bhature, Butter Chicken, Aloo Tikki, Nihari, and Pakora.
In contrast, Mumbai is renowned for its vibrant culinary scene, characterized by the skillful utilization of local ingredients and a harmonious blend of robust spices. Taste Atlas highly recommends indulging in the following iconic dishes when exploring the city: Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Bhel Puri, Bombay Sandwich, and Ragda Pattice.
