The business added that it will engage in all agricultural and related activities, such as crop-raising and plantations, to have a full role in backend sourcing. The newspaper also said that Reliance Consumer Products said it would get into the dairy, agro-based, animal husbandry, and other industries.

Four additional directors have been added to the board by RCPL. They include the managing director of holding company Reliance Retail Ventures, V Subramaniam; T Krishnakumar, who joined the group in 2021 from Coca-Cola; US-based management academician Dipak C. Jain; and managing director of EMA Partners India, K Sudarshan.

Reliance Retail Ventures, the holding company for the conglomerate’s retail business unit, Reliance Retail, also owns RCPL as a whole. Reliance Industries is the owner of Reliance Retail Ventures.

Reliance Consumer Products was formed at the end of November, although the conglomerate revealed its intentions to join FMCG during the annual general meeting held in August of the previous year. Isha Ambani, the daughter of RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani, is in charge of the company’s entry into the FMCG industry. She works at Reliance Retail Ventures as an executive director as well.

In the past ten days, RCPL has announced two purchases: a 50% stake in Sosyo Hajoori Beverages, which makes soft drinks, and a 51% stake in Lotus Chocolate Company, which makes chocolate. RCPL wants to buy up to 26% more of Lotus Chocolate Company through an open offer.

Additionally, the firm will market the Campa soft drink brand that the conglomerate just purchased. ET says that last month, it made the FMCG brand Independence one of its mother brands in Gujarat.
