In a recent announcement, Mitti Café unveiled its newest branch at the arrival section of Terminal 2 in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). The company revealed this exciting news in a press release on Thursday.
CSMIA spokesperson, expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership with Mitti Café, stating,” We are honoured to be partnered with Mitti Café as we embark on this extraordinary journey committed to the cause of employment and livelihoods for people with special needs. CSMIA truly supports this great initiative as it also helps create awareness about disability and inclusion.”
Alina Alam, Director, Mitti Café, said, “This endeavour not only creates employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities but also showcases the immense potential and capabilities of this remarkable workforce. We believe in breaking barriers and fostering a society that embraces inclusion.”

The Mitti Café at CSMIA will be managed by a dedicated team of 23 differently-abled employees who have undergone specialized training for a duration of three months. These employees represent a diverse range of physical, intellectual, and psychological disabilities, including visual impairment, autism, Down syndrome, Asperger’s, and paraplegia. The café at CSMIA will cater to travelers, offering a delightful selection of refreshments such as Sandwiches, Pasta, Samosas, and a variety of hot and cold beverages.
To ensure an inclusive experience for all customers, a unique menu card will be available in braille, enabling visually impaired individuals to place their orders comfortably. Additionally, small placards will be provided to facilitate communication with the attendants, along with sign language menus and basic instruction placards.
Established in 2017, Mitti Café has already made a significant impact across India, with 38 outlets spread across the country. Its commitment to empowering differently-abled individuals and providing an accessible dining environment has garnered widespread appreciation and support.
