India outpaces China, becomes 2nd-largest market for Pernod Ricard

India surpassed China for the first time to become Pernod Ricard‘s second-largest market by sales in the fiscal year ended June, according to Alexandre Ricard, chairman and CEO of the French distiller. He attributed the growth to an expanding base of affluent consumers and increased sales of premium brands like Absolut vodka, Chivas Regal, and Glenlivet.
