Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan, a prominent hotel in Pune, Maharashtra, recently collaborated with Health Chakra, a healthcare organization, to organize a unique CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative aimed at improving dental health care in the community. The initiative involved a “dental health checkup on wheels,” a mobile dental clinic equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to provide comprehensive dental checkups and treatments to people of all ages.
The CSR activity was a trailblazing effort to address the lack of awareness and accessibility to dental healthcare in the community. It was an innovative approach to reach out to the masses and promote dental health and hygiene. The “dental health checkup on wheels” visited different locations in and around Pune, providing easy access to dental care services to people who might not have otherwise been able to receive them.

Mobile Dental Health Chakra was an initiative taken as we often neglect our own health and only visit the doctor when there is an emergency. This was a small effort to help our community by organizing a small dental checkup and raising awareness about dental hygiene.”
To launch the initiative, Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan initially partnered with Zilla Parishad School in Pawarwadi village. The school was selected because of its location in a remote area, making access to healthcare services challenging for the people residing there. The “dental health checkup on wheels” arrived at the school premises and offered free dental checkups to the students, teachers, and parents. In total, over 122 people were screened, and they were given tips and tricks on how to maintain healthy dental hygiene.
The parents of the school students, along with the neighboring citizens and school children from Pawarwadi village, were also invited to the school premises to experience firsthand dental care. The dental professionals on board the mobile clinic provided free consultations and basic treatments, including cleaning, filling, and extractions, to those who needed them. The team of dentists also educated people on the importance of dental health and hygiene, and how it can impact overall health and well-being.
The CSR activity was not only beneficial for the community but also for the associates of Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan. The hotel associates were given an opportunity to receive a dental checkup from the competent dental professionals on board the mobile clinic in the hotel premises itself.
