California-based casualwear brand Dockers has opened its second retail store in India, situated in Dehradun, according to Ace Turtle,͏͏ the͏͏ technology-driven͏͏ retail͏͏ company.
Ace͏͏ Turtle͏͏ serves͏͏ as͏͏ the͏͏ exclusive͏͏ licensee͏͏ for͏͏ Dockers,͏͏ along͏͏ with͏͏ international͏͏ brands͏͏ Lee,͏͏ Wrangler,͏͏ Toys͏͏ ‘R’͏͏ Us,͏͏ and͏͏ Babies͏͏ ‘R’͏͏ Us͏͏ in͏͏ India.

Dockers͏͏ first͏͏ entered͏͏ India͏͏ in͏͏ 2000͏͏ under͏͏ its͏͏ parent͏͏ company͏͏ Levi͏͏ Strauss͏͏ but͏͏ exited͏͏ in͏͏ 2004.͏͏ The͏͏ semi-formal͏͏ khaki͏͏ brand͏͏ returned͏͏ to͏͏ the͏͏ Indian͏͏ market͏͏ in͏͏ 2005͏͏ after͏͏ a͏͏ brief͏͏ hiatus,͏͏ only͏͏ to͏͏ exit͏͏ again͏͏ in͏͏ 2009͏͏ due͏͏ to͏͏ a͏͏ shift͏͏ in͏͏ consumer͏͏ preferences͏͏ from͏͏ khaki͏͏ to͏͏ denim͏͏ and͏͏ formal͏͏ pants͏͏ made͏͏ from͏͏ blended͏͏ fabrics.
Dockers͏͏ re-entered͏͏ India͏͏ in͏͏ partnership͏͏ with͏͏ Ace͏͏ Turtle͏͏ in͏͏ May͏͏ 2023͏͏ and͏͏ opened͏͏ its͏͏ first͏͏ retail͏͏ outlet͏͏ at͏͏ Pacific͏͏ Mall,͏͏ Netaji͏͏ Subhash͏͏ Place,͏͏ New͏͏ Delhi,͏͏ in͏͏ February͏͏ of͏͏ this͏͏ year.
Future͏͏ Growth͏͏ Plans:
Currently,͏͏ the͏͏ company͏͏ aims͏͏ to͏͏ open͏͏ five͏͏ stores͏͏ this͏͏ year,͏͏ with͏͏ a͏͏ target͏͏ of͏͏ reaching͏͏ 20͏͏ stores͏͏ within͏͏ the͏͏ next͏͏ two͏͏ years,͏͏ according͏͏ to͏͏ Berry͏͏ Singh,͏͏ co-founder͏͏ of͏͏ Ace͏͏ Turtle.
