Radisson Hotel introduces Braille menus to enhance Dining Accessibility

Radisson Hotel Group has introduced Braille menus in its 125 South Asian hotels, including key properties in India. In partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Young Indians, this initiative aims to make dining more accessible and inclusive for visually impaired guests.

Radisson Hotels adds Audio QR codes, Braille menus

Visually impaired guests often struggle with traditional menus, leading to dependence or isolation during dining. Radisson Hotel Group’s initiative empowers these guests to choose meals independently. Some properties now have audio QR codes for menu options, and this innovation will expand to more hotels, making dining services more accessible.

According to Indian Retailer, Nikhil Sharma, MD and Senior Area VP, South Asia – Radisson Hotel Group released a statement after announcement, saying, “At Radisson Hotel Group, we are committed to creating spaces that are welcoming and accessible for all our guests. Introducing Braille menus is an important step toward building inclusive dining experiences, ensuring that everyone—regardless of their abilities—feels valued. Our collaboration with CII’s Young Indians reflects on our broader commitment to diversity and inclusion in everything we do.”

Radisson Blu to expand Braille menus across entire South Asia

Notably, the first hotels to introduce this initiative are Radisson Blu Marina New Delhi, Radisson Blu Plaza Hyderabad, Radisson Blu Plaza Mysuru, Radisson RED Mohali, and Radisson Blu Resort Kumbhalgarh. Radisson Hotel Group plans to expand this across its entire South Asia network.

Meanwhile, Chef Rakesh Sethi, Corporate Executive Chef for Radisson Hotel Group South Asia explained, “Dining is not just about food; it’s an experience that should be available to everyone, without limitations. The introduction of Braille menus is a significant move in creating a truly inclusive environment where every guest can make their choices confidently.”

Partnering with CII’s Young Indians has been crucial in launching this initiative. Tarang Khurana, National Chairman of CII – Young Indians added, “We are proud to partner with Radisson Hotel Group in this impactful initiative. This collaboration demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusivity, and we are confident that it will inspire others in the hospitality industry to adopt similar practices.”

Furthermore, Rohit Puri, National Chair, Accessibility at CII – Young Indians mentioned, “This collaboration with Radisson Hotel Group highlights our commitment to building more accessible and inclusive environments. By introducing Braille menus, we are making meaningful progress toward ensuring that every individual, regardless of their abilities, can enjoy the experience of dining independently and confidently.”
