Sunfeast Mom’s Magic launches ‘Will of Change’ Campaign for Equal Inheritance Rights

Published:

According to Media News4u, Ali Harris Shere, Chief Operating Officer of the Biscuits & Cakes Cluster at ITC Limited, stressed the importance of the campaign. He said, “A large number of mothers in India, having faced unfair treatment in matters of inheritance themselves, are the ones who can truly spark change within their own families for their daughters. Through the ‘Will of Change’ campaign, we hope to inspire mothers to ensure equal inheritance rights for daughters and become a Mom of Change.”

Sunfeast ‘Will of Change’ features famous actors Shefali Shah, Manish Chaudhari

Central to the initiative is an emotional film featuring Shefali Shah and Manish Chaudhari. It shows how inheritance decisions often overlook daughters despite their contributions. In a modern family setting, Mr. Shekhar Verma prepares his will with a lawyer. His daughter Shreya helps with documents, but only his son Arjun is named heir.

In the film, the mother, played by Shefali Shah, gently but firmly challenges her husband’s decision. She points out that their daughter is called “beta” (son) in daily life but is seen as “beti” (daughter) when it comes to inheritance. This powerful moment makes him rethink his biases.

Looking ahead, Sunfeast Mom’s Magic sees mothers as powerful figures who can fight against societal biases that affect their children’s rights. The ‘Will of Change’ initiative aims to address deep-rooted biases and inspire mothers to lead the movement for equal inheritance rights.
