The new menu for the Vande Bharat Express will feature both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes as well as regional specialities from Maharashtra. Two of the 2.0 version Vande Bharat trains will be introduced on the Solapur and Shirdi Sai Nagar routes.

On February 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the service of the twin Vande Bharat trains from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, responsible for the food service on the Vande Bharat trains, is working hard to provide the best regional delicacies for the passengers of these two trains travelling to Shirdi and Solapur.

The changing menu will offer breakfast items such as sabudana groundnut khichadi, jowar bhakhri, and besan pola, along with sorghum, shengdana chiwda, and bhadang. Dinner options will include groundnut pulao, pea pulao, bhakar, aamti, danyachi usal, and jhunka (vegetarian) and sauji chicken, chicken tamda rassa, or chicken kolhapuri (non-vegetarian). Snacks in the evening will consist of sabudana vada, shegaon kachori, kothimbir vadi, thali peeth, multigrain bhadang, sabudana wada, and bhakarwadi.

Millet dishes will also be included as a special feature in the changing menu of these two trains.

The Vande Bharat trains being introduced on the Shirdi and Solapur routes may have higher fares compared to other express trains. A chair car ticket from Mumbai to Shirdi on a Vande Bharat train may cost INR 800, while a ticket in the executive class may cost INR 1,630. Typically, a second a/c train ticket from Dadar to Shirdi costs INR 895.
