Tim Hortons continues global expansion with flagship store in South Korea

im Hortons, Canada’s top coffee chain, revealed its global expansion plans on Wednesday by announcing its entry into South Korea. The company aims to open its first flagship store in the country in the second half of 2023, as part of its strategy to expand internationally.

Tim Hortons, which is owned by RBI, a global food company that also owns Burger King and Popeyes, will be operated in South Korea by BKR, the local Burger King operator. The chain has a history of 60 years and is recognized for using 100% premium Arabica beans in its coffee as well as offering a broad range of donut options.

With its presence in 15 countries and over 5,600 stores, Tim Hortons plans to enter one of the most significant and rapidly expanding coffee markets.

“We are excited to enter South Korea, one of the largest and fastest-growing coffee markets,” David Shear, president international of Restaurant Brands International at RBI said. “Based on Tim Hortons’ signature menu and warm service culture, we will contribute to the Korean community.”
